Above Average Thoughts From An Average Guy
With Pizza Hut slicing prices to compete with Dominoes’ aggressive takeout specials, it’s no wonder why the “Red Roof Inn of Fast Food” choose to get crafty on their latest television promotions.
I fancy myself a Black Keys advocate, but nowadays, everyone does. But I was bumping Las Teclas de Negro in bowling alleys and bars long before the band doubled it’s work force. No I was getting down when the Akron, Ohio natives resembled this:
All though my passion for the tandem dwindles with each member added, it’s hard not to hear the group’s latest recordings featured in movie previews, NCAA March Madness tournament promotions, and not surprisingly, TV commercials.
So it came as no shocker when Pizza Hut debuted it’s latest television promotion for their McRib-like menu item, “Cheesy Bites.” Somewhat resembling genital warts, cheesy bites are cheese filled balls attached to the crust; a limited special the Hut brings back every few years.
It came as no surprise the red hot roof chose a red hot rock & roll act to reannounce their wart-like bites. Check it out here:
Looks as though Pizza Hut didn’t feel like forking over the licensing fees for the rights to “Gold on the Ceiling” so they paid the Free Credit Report band to bang out a few chords.
We’ll just assume the company is reinvesting the money saved on advertising into the quality of their ingredients. Right. Cheesy Bites.

UPDATE: It appears Pizza Hut has removed the “Mold” from all current Cheesy Bite ads. Admission of guilt?
