***UPDATE*** The Ice Cream Man is Back

Updating our story from Monday, Bruce Boudreau has been named the head coach of the Anaheim Ducks; his hiring marks the shortest period of time a head coach has gone between jobs. I’d like to think our article made him realize what was at stake for him, a holiday season with less cookies, pies, and of course ICE CREAM; the thought of reduced desserts must be scarier than paranormal activity for Boudreau.
In all seriousness he’s a good fit for a floundering team similar to the situation in Washington when he took over back in 2007. The downside is now in Anaheim he will have much less exposure being on the west coast and coaching a crappy team; also he’ll have to eat his banana splits faster before they melt in the hot California sun, I don’t doubt his determination.
The Ducks currently sit 14th in the Western Conference trailing Dallas by 10 points for the final playoff spot. With 3/4 of the season left it will be interesting to see if Boudreau can ignite this team and make some noise within the conference. Best of luck Bruce.
